Canisteo-Greenwood Dedication of the Living Sign

Save the Date: October 1, 2016

What: Dedication of the Living Sign

When: 11:00am-4:00pm with formal dedication at 11:30am.

Where: Canisteo-Greenwood Elementary School- in front by playground.

Food venders, local merchants, and student clubs will be onsite selling food and memorabilia connected with the living sign.  A family friendly hike to the sign will take place immediately following the dedication.

The dry summer has been tough on the new sign.  Our maintenance department has worked hard to water regularly and apply all recommended products to the trees.  There has been some loss and some trees have died.  The landscape architect assumed a 10% loss in the initial planting and felt this was “normal” especially with the dry weather we had.  All trees are under warrantee and will be replaced.  We are working with the contractor to be sure this is done prior to the dedication in October.
