Qualifications to Vote by Absentee Ballot

1. Absent from the county on Election Day.

2. Unable to appear at the polls due to temporary or permanent illness or disability (temporary illness includes being unable to appear due to risk of contracting or spreading a communicable disease like COVID-19).

3. Unable to appear because you are the primary care giver of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled

How to Apply for an Absentee Ballot

You may apply for an absentee ballot in any of the following ways:

• By going in-person to Canisteo-Greenwood District Office-Located in the High School

• By mail, phone or fax (607-698-2833)

• By utilizing the online Absentee Ballot Application Form (you must print, email or fax the completed application to the District Clerk)

Once your information has been verified we will send you the Absentee Ballot.

How to Return the Ballot

1. Put it in the mail ensuring it receives a postmark no later than May 14, 2024.

2. Bringing it to the District Office no later than May 21st by 5pm.

3. Bringing it to a poll site on May 21st by 5pm.

How to Apply for Early Mail Ballot

• Applications are available no earlier than April 21, 2024.

• You may print, email or fax the completed Early application to the District Clerk. Early Application Form

• Online Early Mail Ballot Applications must be received by the District Clerk no later than May 14, 2024 if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or no later than May 20, 2024 if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter.

• You may hand-deliver your ballot to the District Clerk before 5pm on May 21, 2024.
